If you've been to downtown Ferndale lately, chances are you've seen the Woodward Tribute installed September 2008 just north of Nine Mile on Woodward.

In June 2010, officials from the City of Pontiac, Oakland County, Genisys Credit Union, MotorCities and the UAW-GM broke ground on the second Tribute to be installed Summer 2010 at the 'teardrop' of the Woodward Loop in Pontiac.

The Pontiac Tribute is funded in part by a $100,000 Federal National Scenic Byway grant and matched by a $10,000 MotorCities grant, $5,000 contribution from Oakland County, $5,000 from Genisys Credit Union, and $10,000 from the UAW-General Motors.

What's a Tribute?  Tributes are 30 ft. glass and solar-powered pillars representing Woodward's innovative and interpretive signage, marketing and branding program. Each Tribute will have a theme that celebrates and tells the Woodward story - whether it's cruising or auto heritage, transportation, innovation and technology or music and culture.

The WA3 is currently siting locations with the CIty of Detroit for the next Tribute and working with the Detroit-Wayne County Joint Building Authority.
