WOODWARD AVENUE ACTION ASSOCIATION (WA3) HOSTS COMPLETE STREETS INTERACTIVE COMMUNITY EVENTS FOR CITIES OF BIRMINGHAM AND BLOOMFIELD HILLS

Public Invited to Attend the Woodward Complete Streets Community Events
that will help create a Roadway that Works for Everyone
The WA3 will hold three days of interactive community events on May 20, 21 and 22 as part of its Woodward Complete Streets master planning effort, heralded as the single largest Complete Streets planning effort ever undertaken in North America. This is the second in a series of five planned for the Woodward corridor, and will target the cities of Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills.
*The event will be held at 555 S. Woodward (on the west side of the building, facing Old Woodward).

WOODWARD AVENUE RAPID TRANSIT ALTERNATIVE ANALYSIS (AA)
The Woodward Avenue Action Association (WA3) is a key strategic advisor to the Woodward Avenue Rapid Transit AA, which is being conducted by The Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG). The AA will review rapid transit options for the 27-mile corridor along Woodward Avenue from downtown Detroit to downtown Pontiac, and include an extensive public outreach campaign designed to educate area residents and businesses, enlist their involvement and seek their input.

Transform Woodward/Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Task Force is a WA3 task force that convened in late 2010 to develop a plan and consensus for advancing transit-oriented development (TOD) along Woodward Avenue in Oakland County. Key members represent the cities of Ferndale, Berkley, Birmingham, Huntington Woods and Royal Oak, along with institutional partners, employers and elected officials including: SMART, SEMCOG, Michigan Suburbs Alliance, the Detroit Zoo, and Beaumont Hospital.
