Economic Development Tool Centers for Regional Excellence GrantThe WA3 recently received a $15,000 grant from the State of Michigan Centers for Regional Excellence (CRE). The funding will be used to develop the Woodward Economic Development Tool, a corridor-wide mapping tool to track economic development programs and incentives, available properties along the corridor, zoning regulations and current operating businesses along the Byway. Partners include Woodward 11 communities, Oakland and Wayne counties. The tool is intended to assist municipal and business representatives with their economic and business development efforts to help attract jobs and development to Woodward Avenue. The Woodward Economic Development Tool is expected to launch in December 2009. |
