Clean the D 2010

Join the Woodward Avenue Action Association, Ferndale Chamber of Commerce and the 8 Mile Boulevard Association as we roll up our sleeves and dig in to make a difference in our communities! On Saturday, May 1 the only place to be is one of the over 15 project sites where volunteers will be working to beautify the area by weeding flower beds, removing graffiti, picking up trash and more.

Making the area cleaner and safer for residents and visitors this project is supported by the cities of Detroit, Highland Park, Ferndale, Royal Oak, Pontiac, The New Center Council and William Beaumont Hospital. Tee-shirts, gloves and lunch will be provided to volunteers. Volunteers:
There are many opportunities for individuals to corporate teams to volunteer for Clean the D.  Persons interested in volunteering don’t need a green thumb or an artists eye, just the passion to make a difference in their community. Help us reach our goal of 500 volunteers this year giving 1,500 hours of their time to making Metro Detroit a better place to live, work and play!

Sponsorship Opportunities:
Your company can make a difference in the Metro Detroit area by sponsoring the 3rd Annual Clean the D. This beautification program not only encourages volunteerism in the communities it services, but assists in filling the gap where municipalities have had to cut back funding in department of public works budgets.
